Cleaning Your Mattress Will Stop Your Allergies!

Many people have allergies – including me! There are so many things that trigger my allergies that I have even lost count – from using commercial cleaners to not cleaning my home often enough.

One thing that I figured out the hard way is that cleaning my mattress can make a huge difference! I used to wake up with a runny nose, puffy eyes, and I couldn’t stop sneezing – but one day I had enough. I was so fed up with these allergies that I decided to research what is causing them, and I came to the realization that I hadn’t cleaned my mattress and my pillows for at least three years. I know – they were so filthy but because I couldn’t see what was hiding in them I didn’t even consider cleaning them.

Do You Use A Mattress Cover?

Are you struggling with allergies? Well, when was the last time you cleaned your mattress? When was the last time you washed your pillows? I used to think that my sheets and the mattress cover are enough to protect my mattress from dirt, dust, and impurities but it turns out that I was wrong!

Nothing can replace cleaning your mattress every six months – not even using a mattress cover!

Clean And Disinfect!

Ever since I realized how important the cleanliness of my mattress really is for my allergies I have made it a priority of mine to take care of this chore.

I wash my pillows once a month by simply throwing them in the washing machine.

Unfortunately, you can’t really do that with your mattress. The good news is that cleaning your mattress isn’t something you should do often – once every six months is ideal.

I either make my own cleaner by mixing vinegar and essential oils or I contact a cleaning company. They usually clean all mattresses by applying steam which extracts all dirt, dust, body-liquids, and other impurities that have been absorbed.
