Learn How To Clean Your Stainless Steel Sink

I love stainless steel sinks because they are so easy to clean. Their cleaning also doesn’t require any fancy equipment or special cleaners – you can do it with simple household items.

So if you have a stainless steel sink and you want to know what is the easiest way to clean it I want you to prepare these things:

  • A spray bottle
  • A sponge
  • A cloth
  • Baking soda
  • A lemon
  • Olive oil
  • Vinegar

Yes, this is all you need in order to clean your stainless steel sink and polish it as well. As you can see having a sparkling sink isn’t that hard – and all of these ingredients you already have in your home!

Here Is How To Clean It

Start off with removing any rubber mats, metal sink grinds, or dirty dishes. You want the sink to be empty. Then rinse it with hot water.

Then it’s time to grab the baking soda and sprinkle the entire sink with it. Don’t forget the sides of the sink as well!

Once you do that you need to dampen a sponge and start scrubbing the sink with it. While you scrub you will notice that the baking soda has turned into a paste because of the water. This will work as a powerful scrub which is why you need to be gentle in order to avoid scratching the stainless steel.

Now, once you have scrubbed for a few minutes it’s time to cut a lemon in half and continue the scrubbing with that lemon. Do this for a few minutes then rinse the baking soda and lemon juice.

If you notice any water spots than fill a spray bottle with vinegar and spray your sink with it. Then get a cloth and buff that vinegar into the stainless steel. Then rinse again.

And now you are done with the cleaning – it’s time to polish the stainless steel using the olive oil I told you to prepare. Pour a little bit of the oil into a cloth and rub the sink with it. Once you are done make sure to wipe any of the excess oil with another clean cloth – and you are ready.
